The ISF Academy, in partnership with The Chess Academy (ActiveKids), is excited to announce that 14th Annual The ISF Academy Chess Open will be held on March 3, 2024 (Sunday). We wish to extend a cordial invitation to chess players from local and international schools to participate in this international chess tournament, where they will compete for “team” and “individual” championship titles against other schools. Students currently enrolled in primary or secondary schools in Hong Kong, Macau, and Shenzhen can participate in one of the four sections: Age 6 & Under, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary.

The format of this event is an individual and team tournament, meaning students compete individually and as a team. Schools can send any number of students (such as 1, 3, 8 or 27 students) to the competition. The scores of the top four players in the team are combined to create the final team standing. Titles and trophies will be awarded to the top six schools, individuals and top 3 female winner in each category. There are additional prizes for students in each age group. In addition to grand trophies, the first-place team in each section will be awarded HK$1,000 book vouchers, while the first- to third-place individual and female winners of each section can attend one complimentary chess class provided by The Chess Academy.
