The ISF Academy, in partnership with The Chess Academy HK (TCAHK), is excited to announce that the 15th Annual The ISF Academy Chess Open will be held on March 9, 2025 (Sunday). We wish to extend a cordial invitation to chess players from local and international schools in Hong Kong, Macau and the Greater Bay Area to participate in this international chess tournament, where they will compete for “team” and “individual” championship titles against other schools.

 

With over 320 entries from over 74 schools participating in our successful event last year, we anticipate a very good turnout this year. All sections will play seven rounds and each round will last around 30 minutes.

 

Tournament details:

• Eligibility:      Students currently enrolled in primary or secondary schools in Hong Kong, Macau,
                       and GBA can participate in one of the four sections.

• Sections:       Age 6 & under, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary

• Format:         The format of this event is an individual and team tournament, meaning students

                             compete individually and as a team. Schools can send any number of students

                            (such as 1, 3, 8 or 100 students) to the competition. The scores of the top four

                             players in the team are combined to create the final team standing.
